I’m Ben Sutherland. I make things — products, software, art, physical objects, occasionally a book.
The work on this site spans about twenty years of doing that across a few different careers, but the instinct
behind it is the same: see a problem or an idea, and make the thing.

I founded Present Creative, a full game development studio focused on art production,
UI/UX, and prototypes. We worked with companies like Zynga, GLU, Bandai Namco, Gamblit, Metamoki, and iMex VR
— shipping art, interfaces, and playable prototypes across mobile, console, VR, and skill-based gaming.
Along the way I codified a UX process — information architecture, screen flows, friction planning,
wireframes, motion planning — that became how we shipped UI work for clients. Present Creative was
acquired by Greentube, where I led product on internal tooling and continued the same kind
of practitioner-leader work I’d been doing as a founder.

Today I’m as interested in what AI changes about creative and leadership work as I am in any of the
craft itself. I write about that on Substack.
I also still build things in my spare time — sometimes a Photoshop mockup turns into a working CSS/JS
injection deployed against the live Claude desktop app over a weekend, sometimes it’s an arcade
controller running Unity visuals at a festival, sometimes it’s a chess set printed two pieces at a time
on a resin printer.

This site is organized into two buckets:

  • Business Stuff — product, UX, and creative leadership work
  • Art Stuff — installations, generative work, music videos, hands-on builds, writing
